What You're Looking for in an Attorney

Any attorney can say they handle family law matters. You need someone with the actual knowledge and experience to handle your case and ask tough questions, such as:

  • How many family law cases have you handled?
  • What is your success rate?
  • What percentage of your practice is devoted to family law cases?

  • Why should I work with you?
  • Will you be accessible?

What You Deserve

When it comes to your family law matter, you want an attorney with whom you feel comfortable, who listens, treats you with respect and patience, and provides personal attention as you face potentially challenging life decisions. You need an attorney who knows the law, is an experienced litigator, and can get your case settled as quickly and amicably as possible so that you can move forward.
These are the qualities I offer my clients. I run my own practice and do business the best way I know how, giving each client and each case the attention required and deserved. Additionally, I focus solely on family law because this area of law is too complex and important for a "jack of all trades."

What to Expect

As your legal counsel, I come to the table well-qualified and experienced, able to handle all of your family law needs. My extensive litigation experience, knowledge of the law, and standing in the legal community have provided me with the opportunity to achieve fair and equitable settlements for clients and the ability to effectively litigate a case if necessary.
I accepted appointments from the Circuit Courts of Stafford and Spotsylvania counties to serve as a Commissioner in Chancery to assist the Circuit Court in resolving domestic matters and as a Judge Pro Tempore, serving as a Circuit Court judge for the trial of a particular case. I understand the advantage of presenting evidence in an efficient and effective manner.

My Background

A native Virginian, I graduated from Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary and was admitted to the Bar in 1980. In addition, I clerked for the Judges of the Circuit Court of Fairfax County, entered private practice in Arlington, and subsequently located my office in Stafford, my hometown.
