Welcome to W. Ross Locklear P.C.

Experience • Empathy • Honesty

Stafford Family Law Attorney | Stafford Family Law Practice :: W. Ross Locklear P.C. Stafford, VADon’t be misled by attorneys claiming to have lots of experience. Ask tough questions. How many cases have you handled? What is your success rate? Why should I work with you? Will you be accessible?

You want an attorney with whom you feel comfortable, who listens, treats you with respect and patience, and provides personal attention as you face potentially challenging life decisions. You need an attorney who knows the law, is an experienced litigator, and can get your case settled as quickly and amicably as possible…..so that you can move forward.

These are the qualities I would seek in an attorney, and what I offer my clients. I run my own practice and do business the best way I know how, giving each client and each case the attention they deserve. I focus solely on family law because I feel this area of law is too complex and important for a “jack of all trades”.

EXPERIENCE COUNTS

For the last two decades virtually all of my practice has focused on family law: Divorce, Custody, Visitation, Child support, Spousal Support, Valuation and Division of Assets, Premarital Agreements, and Property Settlement Agreements.

I come to the table well qualified and experienced, able to handle all of your family law needs. My extensive litigation experience, knowledge of the law, and standing in the legal community have provided me with the opportunity to achieve fair and equitable settlements for clients and the ability to effectively litigate a case if necessary.

I accepted appointments from the Circuit Courts of Stafford and Spotsylvania counties to serve as a Commissioner in Chancery to assist the Circuit Court in resolving domestic matters and as a Judge Pro Tempore, serving as a Circuit Court judge for the trial of a particular case. I understand the advantage of presenting evidence in an efficient and effective manner.

I am a native Virginian, graduated from Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary, was admitted to the Bar in 1980, clerked for the Judges of the Circuit Court of Fairfax County, entered private practice in Arlington and subsequently located my office to Stafford, my hometown.
